Vince and Cat are a great team of married secret agents employed by the President's Special Forces (PSF) to find and neutralize a giant heroin smuggling operation in Afghanistan. The author's characterizations of her two main protagonists make this an engaging, standout read; it is a pleasure to read about two real characters, each with their own history and emotional baggage, who are thrust into larger than life circumstances. I generally avoid the thriller genre because of flat, cardboard characters (20+ James Bond movies and novels, and what do we know about his childhood and what forces shaped him into the super-agent he is?), but I grew fonder of Vince and Cat with each page. The bonus materials included in this Kindle download are quite enjoyable as well, and flesh out the protagonists even further. Moreover, the realistic descriptions of Afghanistan give this novel a gritty feel, and make it an altogether relevant, contemporary read.Product details

Vince and Cat are under deep cover in Afghanistan. Vince's persona is Kochi, a humble Pashto speaking Muslim with a switchblade in his turban. Cat finds a burqa the perfect disguise that can even conceal an AK47 when necessary. Vince is haunted by the terrible role that heroin played in his childhood. Cat is the quintessential heroine who can cut a mujahidin's throat, hack a computer and fix tea without breaking a sweat.
So when a tribal warlord plots to topple the Afghan government and frame the American president, this unlikely husband and wife team is dispatched by the ultra secret PSF to thwart the scheme. Since drug money finances the plan, Vince's moral outrage is making him reckless. Fortunately, Cat has his back.
Heroin Guns is slick and gritty at the same time. The characters are engaging. Action leaps from every page leaving the reader anxious for more.
