The answers Bailey Flanigan once longed and prayed for are finally becoming clear. In Loving, the fourth and final book in the Bailey Flanigan series by New York Times best-selling author Karen Kingsbury, Bailey is planning a wedding and making decisions that will shape her future.
Bailey enjoys the beginning of her new career and time spent with Brandon while Cody faithfully coaches his team on and off the field. Will she spend her life with Brandon Paul in Los Angeles, or will her heart draw her back to Bloomington, Indiana, and Cody Coleman, her first love?
Bailey has learned much and grown over the years, but the greatest challenges, the richest joys, and the deepest heartaches are still to come. Featuring members from Karen Kingsbury's popular Baxter family, Loving completes Bailey and Cody's story-the finale thousands of fans have been waiting for.

I just finished the last line of loving and I must sy I am really confused at what just happened. I did not see this coming. I, too have read all the books in the Baxter series and was so excited to see the Bailey series forming. Bailey and Cody's story was one that needed to be told in their own series. It was just so beautiful. Somehow it all just got completely messed up. I felt like this was just a retelling of Katy/Dayne's story, which is very discouraging when you have spent your money and time on something like this. Although I didn't just hate brandon's characterI was just a little sick of the whole Hollywood, perfect guy story again. I found it a little hard to believe or relate to in Katy/Dayne's story but got through it but to have it all rehashed again through this series was a little much for me. I feel like Brandon was a little stalkerish and way to over the top for the down to earth Bailey I had come to love in the previous series. I also think you should have just killed off Cody because his character pretty much died in this book anyway. I, too found myself just wanting to skim through the whole wedding scene because I had just completely lost connection to the characters, only I read every word because I was still holding out hope that surely it wasn't going to end this way. I think it will be a very long time before I am tempted to pick up another KK book. I read a lot and this is honestly the first time I have ever been so disappointed in a series like this before. Wish I had my time and money back on this one.Product details

Loving Bailey Flanigan Book 4 (Audible Audio Edition) Karen Kingsbury Judy Young Gabrielle deCuir Stefan Rudnicki Amanda Carlin Zondervan Books Reviews
I KNEW IT...I knew before I even began reading LOVING that Karen was going have Bailey chose Brandon. But I hoped in the back of my mind...with that little girl, feel like Bailey is my little sister, type of hope...that Bailey would chose Cody. Unfortunately my first prediction was correct and my hopes were crushed.
I agree with so many of the other reviewers, that it feels to me that Karen took the character of Bailey from being loosely based on Kelsey - to being Kelsey. It seems to me that Kelsey's happily ever after became Bailey's, in spite of the years and years of leading us in the direction of a Bailey/Cody happily ever after.
I actually put my down, when Cody & Andi got together and told my husband that I refused to finish the book. Of course, I had to finish it, just to see if Karen would actually disregard her fans so blatantly and go through with the Bailey/Brandon ending. She did...and I was sorely disappointed.
I will admit that I teared up in the Wedding chapters, but not at all because of Bailey and Brandon. I teared up as a Mother, thinking about my own little girls getting married someday, as I read the scenes of the final moments with her family leading up to the Wedding...because we all watched Bailey grow up, and have loved the Flanigans and feel like we are a part of them.
The most upsetting thing to me is the way that Karen decided to shape Bailey and Cody's relationship. As if they were never really in love, that they didn't love each other in the right ways, and that if they had, they never would have walked away from each other. Well, I disagree with that, because I have lived it. My first love and I walked away from each other, in spite of our love, because we both felt we needed to focus more on our relationships with God, and his family had major problems with our relationship. He felt like because of his family, and certain problems in his past (my childhood and adolescence was very similar to Bailey's), he wasn't good enough for me. But, he refused to give up, and he fought to win me back. And, now, we have been together for 11 years, married for 7 years and have 3 beautiful children.
Love is worth fighting for...and sometimes you have to walk away, so that you can work on yourself and fight for what you want.
This has to be the worst Karen Kingsbury series EVER! I do not recommend anyone read this series. If you want to continue to like KK stay away!
Bailey's character changed from a sweet, charming Christian girl to a shallow, spoiled-brat who didn't act like she even believed the Bible verses she spit out. Yes, there can be great changes when a person comes to accept Christ as their Savior but it was amazing how Cody (who I'd rooted for for 18 books) didn't seem to grow in his faith or find the security in his faith that he needed. Yet Brandon changed himself completely over a 6 week movie shoot and just became the epitome of Christianity. Right! I know Karen was on an 18 month deadline to get this series out and she took the easy way out by writing a Dwayne and Katy Take 2 instead of really writing Bailey and Cody's storyline like she should've. So disappointed.
The only time plastic Bailey felt normal was when she felt anger and jealousy when she found out about Cody and Andi (good, a normal emotion!) but the fact that she was completely over it in a matter of a few pages was just ridiculous! Ugh!
It really bugged me that 95% of the time characters prayed God immediately put an answer in their heart. This implied if you pray and don't hear an answer... what? You are praying wrong? God isn't listening to you? Only one time in this whole series (when Gerald got saved I think) did Karen mention that there are times in the Christian walk where you feel like you are walking through the dark and may not even feel your faith. These books really imply that being Christian gives you a perfect life with perfect everything and hardships are overcome by merely acknowledging their presence before God magically takes them away with no effort on your part.
The whole series was so unrealistic. But what got to me continually through ALL four books was the terrible discrepancy in facts. Not just one or two but TONS of them! While it is possible to outgrow your high school love it is not possible to change orange soda into sparkling cider two pages later. The fact that KK hired a TEAM of editors to make sure this doesn't happen again (per an email I received from her mother) tells me that Karen is not very invested in the stories she tells. It's the authors responsibility to make sure she knows her storyline. FAIL Karen Kingsbury, utter FAIL!
I won't be reading anymore Karen Kingsbury for awhile if ever!
